Greetings!!! Its Holiday time---and more than anything this is a time whereyou visit and connect with family. This is a time of giving and an additional time of appreciation of everything and everyone.

Lately, I haven’t been posting any updates----and yes things are much better now and continuously getting better every day. But I realize I am not doing my part with this Life Lesson.  Ewings Sarcoma and Childhood Cancer forced their ways in our lives---with no apolog...

I cant begin to explain all of the many things that have happened  over  year ago. For starters, Bre is CANCER FREE!!!!!!! Thank GOD!!! She is back in school full time, she is walking beautifully, and she is a new child---she is genuinely Happy! And that means more to me than anything!

We have been catching up with an old, good , and true friend----REST! And boy, have I missed that beautiful and underrated friend!  Its definitely something different knowing that we don't need to begin packing clothes for a weeks stay at the hospital. Or that we don't need to prep the kids on what days  we will be here, and give them a basic run down of what to expect that week. The truth of the matter is that I can go on and on for all of the things that I a...

We will be at Tx Childrens a total of 6 days. My thought is to make her last stay as special as possible---so please visit if you can, or send her a Care Message (look on the links page for info).        My goodness, its been so long since I've actually worked on the site, that I don't know where to begin! If I say nothing else, I want you all to know that GOD has been continuously Blessing our family! He has truly been so good that I cant tell it all! I'm thinking if I get ambitious enough, I'll create a "Testimony" page and tell you everything----but lets be real, I'm having a hard time keeping up with the pages we have! :-) Anyhow, we are so excited to ...

The surgery was a success! We are officially 24 hours out of surgery and we are so thankful things have gone so well! Just to show you how good God is--She came out of the recovery room from this major surgery talking, laughing, eating, and watching tv. Our girl even took time and personally spoke with a few family members! Now yall know that's nothing but God! Because we all know some of us grown folk wouldn't have such a positive disposition following that! The only challenge we are facing is ... Read Full Post »

Well Everyone

Tomorrow is Brianna's Big Day! She will have surgery to remove the tumor in her femur, replace her port, and place the implant. God has been so good to us, and given her a special platform:

1. Breanna will be the 1st Black child in TX to have the surgery

2. She will only be the 3rd child in TX to have this surgery

3. She will be the first child in T...

Almost There!

So we are a few days into our last chemo treatment before surgery. Her limb salvage surgery is on November 30th! That will be such a BIG day!!! By the grace of God, the Cancerous Tumor will be removed from her femur bone and she will also have the prosthetic placed inside her leg. At the same time, she will also have her port (central line under her skin) replaced. The current port has been having technical difficulties, which in turn lengthens her admissions and delays her treatments. ...

We're Home!

Posted by Colleena on October 29, 2010 at 1:26 PM Comments comments (0)

By the grace of God we came home one day sooner than usual. Tx Children's Hospital is the best! Since this cycle was normally pretty tough on her with nausea, they changed the way they give it to her to minimize her symptoms. The chemo would normally have run continuously for 48 hours, but now they give her the same chemo in (2) 30 minute infusions. The change also resulted in us being able to leave sooner, so YEAH!!! We have been home now for a day, and ...
